#ThrowBackSeries: The Beginning and the Past: The 6 Days of Creation and the Garden of Eden

This is part of my 1st and 2nd quarter portfolio of my first year in high school entiled, "Amorina's Pages".

The Beginning and the Past: The 6 Days of Creation and the Garden of Eden

Hallooooooo people-who-are-reading-this-because-they-landed-in-this-blog-for-some-unknown-reason. We are now tackling a new chapter which is “The Beginning and the Past”. In this article, I will talk about the 6 days of God’s creation.

"In the beginning, God created the heavens and the earth…” (Genesis 1:1)

As I said earlier in (paste link to who am I article)did you realize that we were created from the soil and buried from the soil when we die? (Genesis 2:7)Isn’t that amazing? God really is quite mysterious and that is one of the reasons that I study His Word, which is the Bible.

God is our role model. He is our God and He is our Lord, yet He chose to be an example to us. He can create the whole world with a snap, but He did it day by day and even rested!
He showed us that you and I
should not cram our work in one day and that we need to rest after several days of working.

God created Adam on the sixth day. His job was to name all the animals and beasts that God brought to him. God placed him in the Garden of Eden so he could take care of them.

The Garden of Eden was described in the Bible in Genesis 2:8-14

Many say that the Garden of Eden is located in Iraq between the Euphrates and Tigris rivers. I agree because there are some ziggurats around the country which is an evidence of ancient people living there and besides Iraq was Mesopotamia.

Mesopotamia or present-day Iraq is where Abram (Abraham) the “Father of all Nations” was born. He lived in the city of Ur now present-day Al-Nasariyah. Babylon is also located in Iraq which is now Al-Hillah. The ancient place called Sumer also lies in Iraq. Sir Leonard C. Wooley discovered tombs and artifacts of the Sumerians. He also found some ziggurats in ruins.

Hmmm… Sumerians are known for their ziggurats and they are located in Iraq. Babylon, the place where the Tower of Babel can be located, is also located in Iraq. So since they both lived on the same era, (3500 B.C.)then the Tower of Babel most probably looks like a ziggurat! So since the Tower of Babel is in Babylon, which is in Iraq, then civilization may have started there! Besides, Babylon is near the said to be place of the Garden of Eden. The name of the two rivers was mentioned on the location of the Garden of Eden in Genesis 2:14 “The name of the third river is Tigris; it runs along the east side of Asshur. And the fourth river is Euphrates.”

I will gather all the resources that I got from the net for you and compile it in another blog post entry so you could read the information for yourselves. See you!

#ThrowbackSeries: Who Am I?: How Was I Formed?

This is part of my 1st to 2nd quarter of my first year portfolio entitled "Amorina's Pages". This was also posted in my previous Amorina's Pages blog.

*Jeremiah 1:4-5
“The word of the Lord came to me, saying, ‘Before I formed you in the womb I knew you, before you were born I set you apart; I appointed you as a prophet to the nations.’ ”

The Bible says that God knew me before I was born. He knew about you and me before we were created by him.

*Genesis 2:7
“The Lord God formed the man from the dust of the ground and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life, and the man became a living being.”

God formed us from the soil and breathe into us the breath of life.
Did you notice that we were made from the soil and once we die, we are buried again in the soil? My Mom told me this and I was amazed in God’s design to us.

*Psalm 139: 13-15
“For you created my inmost being; you knit me together in my mother’s womb. I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made; your works are wonderful, I know that full well. My frame was not hidden from you when I was made in the secret place. When I was woven together in the depths of the earth…”

Did you know that you were as small as a dot (.)? You were like a cluster of tiny balls, then you looked like an alien, then you transformed into the way you looked like now.

You grew your umbilical cord that is connected to your mom’s. You slowly took shape and your fingers, nails, toes, ears, nostrils, mouth, eyelids, eyebrows, and other inner and outer body parts were formed. And after nine months of waiting, you finally came out to meet your parents.

You are actually half of your father and your mother combined. You have distinct characteristics that you got from your father and your mother.

Remember that God created you fearfully and wonderfully. You are a unique masterpiece in God’s eyes. You are distinct among others.

#ThrowbackSeries: Invincible Louisa by Cornelia Meigs

This is one of the posts that I posted in Riona's Pages. I'll be honest to say that I actually have forgotten the story so I'll be updating this book review after I re-read this book.

Title: Invincible Louisa

Author: Cornelia Meigs

Learn the story behind the story of the author of the classic story, Little Women. Be with her to the ups and downs of her life as she earns her name "Invincible Louisa".

Summary from the back cover: The story starts on Louisa's birthplace; Germantown, Philadelphia; on a cold November day. The story begins as Louisa grows as a toddler until she died at age 55 on March 6, 1888. Read the story to know where the characters from her book came from and from where did Little Women came. Learn if there really is a Laurie in Louisa's life. You will know this when you read Invincible Louisa by Cornelia Meigs.

My Comments:

What I like about the book: First off all, I love Louisa! Her assertiveness, liveliness, devout love for her family, and her passion for writing just amazes me. Knowing the author behind
Little Women helps me understand the author's point of view in the story. I also love the tests and trials that she faced and how she faced them which are written in the book.

What I don't like about the book: I think I would love to know more on what happened to her sisters after, *spoiler*, she died. Well we'll all die at one point anyway so that's not so much of a spoiler.

My Suggestion: I think this book should be advertised along with the "
Little Women" book for the readers to actually see how her life is reflected in the book she wrote.

Mind Mapping

Today I want to talk about a method organizing subjects, thoughts, questions, topics, ideas, and life in general. This method of organizing stuff into sensible doodles on paper is called Mind Mapping.

I can't fully express how much I adore mind mapping and how it has greatly help me organize the tangled stuff in my mind and in my heart (yes, I use mind mapping to determine what I am feeling). For fellow INTJs and INFJs out there, You know what I mean.

 "
Mind mapping is a great way to map out the things you are thinking to keep them from being clattered."-How I defined Mind Mapping on my old blog.

Besides the fact of of it helping you become more organize, It's a colorful, fun, and healthy activity that you'll enjoy doing!

If you ever have trouble Mind mapping, just remember to start with the root of the matter or the main topic. Then just branch it out with sub points and the sub points with sub-sub points.

 Have fun Mind Mapping!

Stationery-wise

Growing up,I came to love stationery. I'm not referring to just those special papers, with different designs on the sides of the paper, that you use to give letters and such; I'm referring to notebooks, post-its, and anything with paper!

Oh and I also have a stash of pens. (Titus pens and gel pens are <3) I mean, who doesn't? (other people than me...INTROVERTS BACK ME UP ON THIS) Well yes...but hey, there's a reason why I love stationery.

1.Whenever I see stationery supplies, it sparks ideas and joy in me. Every time I see stationary supplies,my eyes just bulge out and my heart skips a beat. And I actually feel productive when I buy stationery supplies.
2.It helps and encourages me to be more organized.
Post-its are a life saver. It helps you go back to important details or reminds you of what to do in a colorful way!

3.It brings color to my lifestyle
Making lists, mind mapping, and planning are natural things that I do, but using stationary makes it colorful and fun.

I actually have different notebooks for specific purposes. (Ex: Application notebook, memory verse notebook, everyday  sketch notebook, etc...)

Oh and did I mention that I love Green Apple and Titus?
