"Show us the ancient paths"- This phrase whispered to my ear and kept on replaying in my mind after the Global Discipleship Conference that was held in Manila, Philippines on May 22-25, 2013.
This phrase is reflected upon this Bible verse in:
(Jeremiah 6:16)
"This is what the Lord says:
'Stand at the crossroads and look;
ask for the ancient paths,
ask where the good way is, and walk in it,
and you will find rest for your souls.
But you said, ‘We will not walk in it.’ "
What is this 'ancient path' that is mentioned in this verse?
This ancient path is the righteous path which God wants us to take; the path which is forgotten by the generation today. "Stand at the crossroads and ask God for the ancient path"; we are living in a world where ancient is not cool...what I mean to say is the world we're currently living in thinks that being "Christ-like" is not trendy and is weird. But we, children of God, are called to be Christ-like and walk the path which Noah took, the path which Abraham walked, the path which Moses chose, the path which David lived, the path which the disciples, apostles, and prophets endured, and the path which Jesus embraced and accepted. Yes, this may seem "not cool" to the world, but if Christ is the center of your life, you wouldn't care what the the world views what you do for the LORD.
This is the same path that we should commit ourselves to. Let us take up the cross and follow Him, who is waiting at the end of the path.
